Saatva Mattress Review Breakdown

The Saatva is a hybrid mattress that uses various materials, including a comfort layer made of fiber fill polyfoam, memory foam, and pocketed coils along with a support system of hourglass coils.

The Saatva Mattress comes with three firmness choices and two height options. The firmness options are Plush Soft (3), Luxury Firm (6), and Firm (8). The height options include 11.5 inches or 14.5 inches.

A knit cover constructed of natural cotton will cover the sleeping surface. This material allows airflow into the mattress, while also feeling soft to the touch.

All three levels of firmness feature similar comfort systems. They include a Euro-top that has sewn-in cushioning. In the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models use 1.25 inches of polyfoam that is soft, while the Firm version uses 1.5 inches of firm polyfoam. Each of the firmness choices also include .75 inches of filling made from fiber and one ounce of Dacron to provide cushioning to the surface of the mattress.

Under the Euro-top is a .625-inch layers of polyfoam, and underneath is a .375-inch thick layer of memory foam. This small layer helps support the lumbar region of the sleeping person to help improve spinal alignment. Then, a four-inch thickness of 14.5 gauge foam-encased coils adjusts to the body of the person sleeping while ensuring a good air circulation throughout. The coil gauge is in mid-point of spectrum which allows for a balance between flexibility and shaping.

Each mattress has a core made of hourglass coils that weigh 13 gauge. These coils are crafted to ensure the mattress is more durable and allow for a significant flow of air through the mattress. The 11.5-inch mattress has a layer of 4 inches of coils, while the 14.5-inch version has a 7-inch layer. The base has an .5-inch loft pad and a. 875-inch fiber pad that supports this coil. A foam encasement wraps around the edges of the mattress, thereby strengthening the edges.

Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

While the Saatva isn’t able to isolate as much motion as some hybrids however, it’s probably adequate for the majority of sleepers.

The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. Instead, it uses an additional layer of springs within the system of comfort. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some motion and reduce the amount of movement that is felt across the surface of the bed. But, sleeping people may be able to feel some motion transfer when their partner moves or gets up at night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Sleepers who are frequently awakened may notice this more than others.

Because of its soft touch Its softer feel Plush Soft version of the Saatva is able to absorb a little more motion than the firm and luxury models.

Relief from Pressure Relief

All versions of the Saatva Mattress have significant pressure-relieving features that are equal to or better than many hybrid models.

The Euro-top cushions the surface of the mattress. Meanwhile, the layer of pocketed coils in the comfort system offer more contouring. This cradling can help distribute the weight of the person sleeping on more of the area, easing pressure points that are often found around the hips and shoulders.

Additionally the lumbar pad of memory foam assists in preventing the sleeping person’s midsection from sinking into the bed too deeply. This extra support aids in better spinal alignment.

Although all of the Saatva firmness options have the potential to relieve pressure however, the amount of relief an individual feels on the mattress can vary dependent on their weight and sleeping position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will probably experience the most pressure relief with the Plush Soft version of the mattress, whereas those who weigh over 300 pounds are likely to get the best balance of contouring and support from the firmer version.

Temperature Control

While hybrid mattresses tend to sleep cool, the Saatva’s construction might help it to sleep cooler than other hybrid mattresses.

The Saatva’s Euro-top is made of fiber and polyfoam, which is more airy than memory foam. The cover made of cotton also permits air circulation into the mattress.

Many hybrid models have comfort systems that have thick layer of memory foam and it is also known that memory foam can trap heat. The Saatva’s comfortable system consists primarily of pocketed coils. Air can flow relatively freely between springs which allow the heat to escape out of the mattress. The support layer of the Saatva uses coils, making the mattress extremely comfortable to breathe.

Although all of the firmness options can help to promote the sleep of a cooler temperature However, The Plush Soft version has more firmness, which could result in some heat retention.

Edge Support

The Saatva Mattress has a solid enough edge that allows nearly everyone to sit or sleep close to the edge without sinking too much. This edge reinforcement is excellent when compared with other hybrid models.

A foam encasement wraps around the perimeter of Saatva’s two layers of spring. This thick foam minimizes the chance of sagging at the edges as the user gets closer to the perimeter. This extra edge stability can increase the surface area of the mattress, as the sleepers will feel secure enough to sleep near the edge without fear of falling off. A more solid edge could help you lie at edges of bed, and, consequently, help you get in and out of the bed.

Since that the Plush Soft version of the Saatva lets people sink in more but its edges might not be as secure like those of the Luxury Firm and Firm variants of this mattress. Also, people who weigh more than 230 pounds might experience more sinkage on the edges than lighter sleepers.

Ease of Movement

Hybrid models tend to be relatively responsive, but Saatva’s use polyfoam and 2 layers of springs make it exceptionally responsive in comparison to other hybrids.

The Saatva’s Comfort System is made up mostly of pocketed coils. Although these fabrics conform to the sleeper’s body however, they tend to recover their shape faster than memory foam. This minimizes the possibility of a sleeper feeling “trapped in mattress” sensation that is often caused by memory foam comfort layers.

The Saatva’s various different firmness levels are likely to be relatively easy for most users to move around and switch positions on. However, most people will likely find the firmer models of the mattress the easiest to move on because they are less pliable than the Plush Soft version.

Sex

The Saatva’s combination between responsiveness and traction could make it a better platform to engage in sexual activity than hybrid mattresses that are available.

Its Euro-top conforms enough to give traction, which some couples find beneficial for sexual intimacy. Two layers of coils provide the mattress more bounce. The firm edge of the Saatva could allow couples to utilize the entire surface of the mattress as well as its easy movement may allow couples to change places without difficulty.

The coil’s core could cause a slight creaking sound as time passes however, it will be in a quiet enough manner to offer a quiet experience for most couples.

Off-Gassing

While all mattresses may possess an “new mattress” smell however, the Saatva will likely to have little or no smell. Furthermore, any smell that might be present will be eliminated quickly.

A lot of off-gassing smells originate due to synthetic foams. These foams typically emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the process of manufacturing. Although these odors are typically not believed as harmful to the environment, some people may find them unpleasant.

The Saatva is made of synthetic foam, but these foams ship directly to the manufacturing companies of Saatva already stable. Furthermore, because the Saatva uses two substantial coil layers, the Saatva has less foam than hybrid models.

It is unlikely that the Saatva Mattress to produce very much, if any, odor. If a Saatva Mattress does smell, it will be able to air out quickly because of its breathable design.

The Body’s Weight and Sleep Style

Your preferences for how you like to sleep and your weight are going to impact which mattresses are best for you, which includes the Saatva. Although everyone has their own personal preferences about what is most comfortable, those who have similar sleeping postures and weigh the same will have similar requirements as sleepers.

Side Sleepers

What they need:Side sleepers typically require an equilibrium between support and cushioning for an enjoyable night’s rest. Their shoulders and hips need to sink into a bed only enough to offer relief from pressure points as well as to align their spine correctly all night. If a mattress has too much cushioning and sink or too much pushback, the spine could be out of alignment which could contribute to discomfort down the road.

How the Saatva Fits: When it comes to side sleepers under 130 pounds that is the Plush Soft version of the Saatva is the one we think is the best choice to the task. Should the Plush Soft option feels too soft and squishy, the middle of the road Luxury Firm version can work well for side sleepers who are lighter.

People who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds are likely to find the Luxury Firm version to be the best option. It shares the softer polyfoam used to make the Plush Soft construction for pressure relief but also has its own more firmer feel. Its Plush Soft and Firm options are also suitable for sleepers who are side-sleep within this weight range in the event that the Luxury Firm option not feel firm or soft enough.

Sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds would most likely opt for the firm variant of Saatva. This being said it is possible to choose the Luxury Firm version can be a good choice for heavier side sleepers in particular if the standard Firm is too stiff for them.

Back Sleepers:

What they need:Back sleepers also require a balancing of support and cushioning especially around the lower back. This balance tends to be on the firmer and more supportive portion of the spectrum in order to strengthen the lumbar region. People who sleep on their backs still need some cushioning however too much could result in the lower back sagging out of alignment.

How the Saatva Fits: For back sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds, both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm Saatva models can meet their requirements pretty well. Both come with strong support systems balanced by soft cushioning foams.

If you’re one of the people who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds, back sleepers will likely prefer that the Luxury Firm Saatva is the most ideal combination of support, firmness and contouring of the three. The Plush Soft and regular Firm choices are close second, especially if you prefer softer or firmer beds.

For back sleepers, those who weigh over 300 pounds are likely to find the Firm version of the Saatva to have the right level of support and firmness. This model is called the Luxury Firm. Luxury Firm is an ideal choice for those who are heavier and prefer a softer mattress.

Stomach Sleepers:

What they require:Stomach sleepers typically require mattresses that are more firm and have more support to prevent them from sinking to deeply into the mattress. People who sleep on their stomachs tend to exert more pressure on the mattress than other sleepers, particularly on their midsections. If a mattress is not sufficiently supportive, they could risk sinking through the comfort layers, causing their spines in disarray.

How the Saatva Fits: Stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds should be able to sleep comfortably on the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm versions of the Saatva, depending on their preferences for how firm. The firm Saatva comes with the same support core as the other two models, but the firm polyfoam in the comfort layer creates more of a firmer feel, which could be too firm for those who sleep lightly.

The stomach sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds ought to be sure to consider both the Luxury Firm as well as the Firm models of Saatva. Both of them provide the firm support and a more firm feel stomach sleepers like for a comfortable night’s rest.

Those who sleep on their stomachs and weigh over 230 pounds are probably best in the Firm model of Saatva. Although the Luxury Firm as well as the Plush Soft options have the same support system, the feel might be too soft to avoid excessive sink.

Saatva Waterproof Mattress Protector FAQ

Where are Saatva mattresses manufactured?

Saatva mattresses are produced in the U.S. The company operates 19 factories and 145 fulfillment centers across the country. Roughly 2,500 mattresses are manufactured every week. The typical Saatva mattress travels less than 100 miles from the location where it’s produced and the home of the buyer.

Mattresses from Saatva can be described as “bench constructed,” meaning one craftsman facilitates the process of transforming the material into a finished product. The company does not depend on foreign manufacturer. The majority of foams and of the other mattress materials are also manufactured from the U.S. The additional 15% of the materials could be sourced internationally.

Is Saatva Classic a good mattress?

What makes a mattress “good” and “bad” suitable for your needs is based on several factors, such as your body type, primary sleeping position, as well as general preferences for firmness and contouring levels. Every mattress is a particular design and composition that makes it better for certain types of sleepers than others.

Mattresses with different firmness choices like those of the Saatva Classic can accommodate a greater variety of sleepers than mattresses that have one fixed design.

  • Saatva Classic models with a plush soft feel – or 3 on our 10-point firmness scale – have extra padding on their Euro-tops and provide the best body contouring. People who sleep on their sides who weigh more than 300 pounds, and back and stomach sleepers with below 130 lbs will probably feel the most comfortable.
  • Models that are luxurious Firm (6) contour to some degree and offer a decent amount of support. This firmness range is ideal for those who weigh between 130 and 300 pounds, although the models with a luxurious firm contour have received high marks from the majority of our test subjects who weigh less than 230 lbs regardless of their sleeping position.
  • The more firm (7) feel features less Euro-top padding than the other two levels of firmness which results in more support but with minimal shaping. Stomach and back sleepers who weigh 130lbs or more will likely choose these mattresses, but they have also earned praise from side sleepers weighing more than 230lbs.

The Saatva Classic is available in two different profiles: 11.5 or 14.5 inches. The 11.5-inch model has a bonnell coil support center measuring 4 inches thick, while the 14.5-inch model’s support core measures 7 inches thick. This model offers a bit more support, which could be appealing to those who weigh more than 230lbs.

In terms of overall performance and quality Our testing team has given positive scores to this Saatva Classic in categories like edge support, temperature neutrality ease of movement, ability to respond to sexual stimulation, and odor potential. Below-average motion isolation – an issue that is common with innersprings and hybrids – appears to be one shortcoming of the mattress. Moreover, certain Saatva Classic models struggle in certain categories due to their firmness . But, remember that our ratings are highly subjective and could not be a reflection of your experience with the mattress.

How long will it take to get a Saatva Classic mattress?

The majority of online mattresses and sleep products offer standard ground shipping for their orders. Saatva is a bit different as it offers White Glove delivery, which includes home assembly and the removal of your mattress as well as box spring. Since White Glove delivery is scheduled, waiting times will vary by customer.

Saatva Classic models are built according to your specifications, so production of your mattress will start as soon as you’ve placed your order. Once the mattress is built, inspected, and ready for shipment, Saatva’s White Glove delivery team will notify you of the delivery date. One day prior to the date of delivery, you’ll receive another email to confirm a 4-hour delivery window.

An adult aged 18 years or older must be present at the address during delivery. If you’re late and the couriers show up at the same time, they’ll stay for 20 minutes before leaving. You may reschedule the delivery at no extra charge. If the White Glove couriers are late to arrive by the date of delivery A team member will notify you to notify you of the delay and reschedule when needed.

Saatva’s complimentary White Glove delivery also extends to Saatva’s other mattress models bed frames, bed bases, and beds that can be adjusted.

Do you require a box spring with Saatva Classic mattress?

There is no need for a box spring for your Saatva Classic, but this might make the best option. Box springs are rectangular base with internal coils as well as a fabric-upholstered exterior. Box springs were originally created with innersprings similar to Saatva Classic in mind, but they could not offer enough support for larger models made of all-latex or all-foam.

Alternatively, you can use a foundation in conjunction with the Saatva Classic. Foundations don’t feature coils like box springs, but they do offer ample support. They also tend to be more robust as compared to box springs. But, one disadvantage of the foundation is they lack the cushioning provided by box springs and may make your mattress feel more firm than preferred.

If you own an box spring, and you decide you’d prefer to incorporate an existing foundation to go with your new Saatva Classic, remember that Saatva’s White Glove couriers will remove the old box spring at no extra cost.

Is Saatva Classic a good mattress for side sleepers? Saatva Classic a good mattress for those who sleep on their sides?

The Saatva Classic’s variety of design options mean that the mattress is able to accommodate people sleeping in different positions. That said, some degrees of firmness will feel more comfortable in certain sleeping positions than others.

Saatva Classic ratings from side sleepers in our testing crew differed by weight class. Sleepers with a weight of less than 130lbs received the highest scores for Saatva Classic models with luxury plush (3) level of firmness. Those who weigh 130 to 230 pounds awarded the highest ratings to models with the luxury firm (6) feeling. Additionally, those who sleep on their sides weighing more than 230 pounds awarded the best scores to models that have the firm (7) feel.

Based on our tests our Saatva Classic’s profile did not play a huge role in tester experiences. Our sleepers on the side found the 11.5-inch and 14.5-inch model equally cozy and comfortable. Saatva Waterproof Mattress Protector

Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

Although the Saatva isn’t able to isolate enough motion like other hybrids available however, it’s probably adequate for the majority of sleepers.

The Saatva’s Comfort System uses smaller layers of foam than hybrid models. Instead, it uses an additional layer of springs within its comfort systems. The thinner foam layers combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some motion which reduces the amount of motion that is felt across the surface of the bed. But, sleeping people may be able to feel some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up in the night because of the springs’ two layers. Sleepers who are frequently awakened may notice this more than other sleepers.

Because of its soft feel Its softer feel Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in a bit greater motion than firm and luxury options.

Relief from Pressure Relief

The various versions and models of Saatva Mattress Saatva Mattress have significant pressure-relieving features that are equal to or greater than the majority of hybrid models.

The Euro-top cushions the surface of the mattress. Meanwhile, the layer of pocketed coils within the comfort system provides more contouring. The cradling may help distribute the weight of the person sleeping on an entire area, which helps relieve pressure points that are often found around the hips and shoulders.

In addition, the memory foam lumbar pad can prevent the sleeper’s lumbar region from sinking into the bed too deeply. This extra support aids in better spinal alignment.

While all of the Saatva firmness options offer the ability to alleviate pressure however, the amount of relief that an individual experiences on the mattress can vary dependent on their weight and sleeping position. People who weigh less than 130 pounds will likely have the greatest pressure relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while those who weigh more than 250 pounds will probably enjoy the most optimal balance of contouring and support from the Firm version.

Temperature Control

Although hybrid mattresses generally rest coolly, Saatva’s structure might aid it to to sleep cooler than many other hybrid mattresses.

The Saatva’s Euro-top uses polyfoam and fiber, which is more comfortable than memory foam. The cover made of cotton also permits air flow into the mattress.

Many hybrid models use comfort systems with thick layers of memory foam and memory foam tends to retain heat. However, the Saatva’s comfort system consists primarily of coils that are pocketed. Air flows quite easily between the coils and allows the heat to escape out of the mattress. The support layer of the Saatva uses coils, making the mattress exceptionally breathable.

Although all of the firmness options can help to promote an evening that is cooler however, the Plush Soft version has more conforming that could lead to some warmth retention.

Edge Support

The Saatva Mattress has a sturdy enough edge that allows nearly everyone to sit and sleep close to the edge without sinking too much. This edge reinforcement is excellent in comparison to other hybrid models.

An encasement of foam wraps around the perimeter of Saatva’s two spring layers. The firm foam helps reduce edge sagging when the sleeper is near the edge. The extra edge stability may make it easier to use the entire surface of the mattress as sleepers may feel secure enough to sleep near the edge without fear of rolling off. A more secure edge may also make it easier to sit on edges of bed, which may by extension make it easier to get in and out of bed.

Because it is the Plush Soft version of the Saatva allows people to relax more than the firmer version, its edges may not feel quite as secure as the Premium Firm and Firm variants of the mattress. Also, people who weigh more than 230 pounds might experience more sinkage on the edges than sleepers who are lighter.

Ease of Movement

Hybrids are generally quite responsive, but Saatva’s use polyfoam as well as two layers of springs make it exceptionally responsive in comparison to other hybrids.

The Saatva’s comfort system consists mostly of pocketed coils. While these materials adapt to the body of the user but they tend to return to their shape more quickly that memory foam. This minimizes the possibility of the sleeper experiencing the “trapped in mattress” feeling that can be caused by the comfort layer of memory foam.

The Saatva’s firmness options are likely to be simple for sleepers to move across and switch positions on. However, most people will likely find the firmer models of the mattress the most easy to move around on as they don’t conform as much as those of Plush Soft version.

The Saatva’s combination of responsiveness and traction may offer a more comfortable surface to engage in sexual activity than hybrid mattresses available.

Its Euro-top conforms enough to provide traction, which couples might find beneficial for sex. The two coils give the mattress additional bounce. The Saatva’s strong edge could help couples to take advantage of the entire surface of the mattress as well as its easy movement may allow couples to change places without difficulty.

The coil’s core might produce some slight creaking as time passes However, it is quiet enough to provide a relatively discreet experience for the majority of couples.

Off-Gassing

While any mattress may be scented with the “new mattress” smell however, the Saatva is most likely to be odorless or have any odor. Additionally, any potential smell will be eliminated quickly.

A lot of off-gassing smells originate due to synthetic foams. These foams typically emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from manufacturing. While these odors are generally not considered to be harmful, certain individuals might find them unpleasant.

The Saatva is made of synthetic foam, but these foams ship directly to the manufacturing companies of Saatva that are already stable. Furthermore, because the Saatva uses two substantial coil layers, it is made up of less foam than many hybrid models.

We would not expect the Saatva Mattress to emit an odor, if at all. However, if the Saatva Mattress does smell, it should air out quite quickly because of its air-tight construction.

The Body’s Weight and Sleep Style

The way you prefer to sleep as well as your weight are going to affect which mattresses are suitable for you, such as the Saatva. Although everyone has their own personal preferences regarding what is at ease, those who are in similar positions and with similar weights are likely to have the same needs as sleepers.

Side Sleepers:

What They Need:Side sleepers typically require an equilibrium between support and cushioning for the best night’s sleep. Their shoulders and hips need to sink into the bed only enough to offer relief from pressure points and to align their spine correctly all night. If a bed has too much cushioning and sink or too much pushback the spine could not be in alignment and can cause discomfort later on.

How the Saatva Fits: When it comes to side sleepers under 130 pounds that is the Plush Soft version of the Saatva is the one we consider best suited for the job. Should the Plush Soft option feels too soft then the middle of the road Luxury Firm model will be suitable for side sleepers who are lighter.

If you weigh between 130-230 pounds should choose the luxury Firm model to be their best choice. It shares the softer polyfoam that is used to make Plush Soft. Plush Soft construction for pressure relief, but has its own firmer feel. Its Plush Soft and Firm options are also suitable for sleepers who are side-sleep in this weight range, should the Luxury Firm alternative not feel soft or firm enough.

Side sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds will probably be best off going to the firmer variant of Saatva. However that the Luxury Firm version can be a great option for those who are heavier on their side especially if the standard Firm is too stiff for them.

Back Sleepers

What they require:Back sleepers also require a balancing of cushioning and support, particularly around your lower back. The balance is on the more supportive and firmer end of the spectrum to reinforce the lumbar area. Sleepers who lie on their backs need some cushioning However, too much cushioning can lead to the lower back sagging out of the proper alignment.

How the Saatva Fits: For back sleepers who weigh less than 130lbs Both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm Saatva models will satisfy their requirements pretty well. Both come with strong support systems that are balanced by soft cushioning foams.

When it comes to those who weigh between 130 to 230 pounds, back sleepers are likely to find their Luxury Firm Saatva as the most ideal combination of firmness, support and contouring of the three. The Plush Soft and regular Firm options are both close seconds for those who prefer soft or firmer beds.

For back sleepers, those who weigh over 230 pounds will probably prefer the firm version of the Saatva to be the perfect amount of firmness and support. The Luxury Firm is also a good option for heavier sleepers who prefer an extra soft mattress.

Stomach Sleepers:

What They Need:Stomach sleepers typically require an extra firm mattress that has more support to keep them from sinking to deeply into the mattress. Sleepers who lie on their stomachs typically exert more pressure on a mattress than other sleepers, particularly in their midsections. If a mattress isn’t adequately supportive, they may be at risk of sinking into the comfort layers and pushing their spines out of alignment.

How the Saatva Fits: Stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds are likely to have success sleeping on both of Plush Soft and Luxury Firm versions of the Saatva according to their preferences for how firm. The Firm Saatva comes with the same support core that is used in the two other options however the polyfoam that is firm inside the comfort layer gives more of a firmer feel, which may be too hard for sleepers who are lighter.

A stomach sleeping person who is between 130 to 230 pounds should seriously consider both Luxury Firm as well as the Firm models of Saatva. Both offer the strong support and a more firm feel stomach sleepers prefer for a good night’s rest.

Those who sleep on their stomachs and weigh more than 300 pounds are most likely suited to the Firm version of the Saatva. While the luxury Firm as well as the Plush Soft options have the same support system, their feel may be far too soft to prevent excessive sink.

Saatva Waterproof Mattress Protector. FAQ

Where are Saatva mattresses made?

Saatva mattresses are produced in the U.S. The company operates nineteen factories as well as 145 fulfillment facilities throughout the country. Around 2,500 mattresses are produced each week. The average Saatva mattress travels fewer than 100 miles between the factory where it’s made and the residence of the purchaser.

Saatva mattresses are “bench built,” meaning one craftsman facilitates the process of transforming the raw materials into a final product. Saatva does not rely on any foreign manufacturers. The majority of foams and of the other mattress materials are also sourced from the U.S. The remaining 15% of mattresses could be sourced internationally.

Is Saatva Classic a good mattress?

What makes a mattress “good” to you or “bad” to you depends on a few factors, such as your body type, your primary sleep position, and your general preferences regarding firmness and contouring levels. Each individual mattress has a design and material composition that makes it more suited to some people than others.

That said, mattresses with various firmness options, such as the Saatva Classic can accommodate a greater variety of sleepers than mattresses that have only one fixed shape.

  • Saatva Classic models with a luxurious soft feel – or 3 on our 10 point firmness scale – have extra padding on their Euro-tops and provide the best to body contouring. Sleepers on the side who weight more than 300 pounds, and back and stomach sleepers who weigh below 130 lbs should find this level of firmness to be the most comfortable.
  • Models that are luxurious Firm (6) contour to some degree and provide decent support. This firmness range is ideal for those who weigh 130 to 230 pounds, though the models with a luxurious firm contour have received praise from the majority of our testers who weigh less than 230 lbs regardless of sleeping position.
  • The firm (7) feel features less Euro-top padding than other two levels of firmness, resulting in extra support but with very little shaping. Stomach and back sleepers who weigh more than 130 pounds are likely to prefer these types, even though they have also received high praise from side sleepers with over 230 pounds.

The Saatva Classic is available in two different profiles: 11.5 or 14.5 inches. The 11.5-inch model comes with a bonnell coil support core measuring 4 inches thick, and one of the 14.5-inch model’s support center measures 7 inches thick. This model offers a bit additional support that could be appealing to those who weigh more than 230lbs.

Regarding overall quality and performance Our team of testers has awarded positive ratings for Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic in categories like edge support, temperature neutrality, the ease of movement, the responsiveness to sex and the potential for odor. Below-average motion isolation – a common issue with hybrids and innersprings appears to be one shortcoming of the mattress, and some Saatva Classic models struggle in certain areas because of their firmness levels. However, keep in mind our ratings are highly subjective and could not be a reflection of your experience with this mattress.

How long does it take to buy a Saatva Classic mattress?

The majority of mattresses and sleep products utilize standard ground shipping for their purchases. Saatva differs since the company provides free White Glove delivery, which includes assembly at home and the removal of your mattress and box spring. Because White Glove delivery is scheduled, waiting time will differ for each customer.

Saatva Classic models are built according to your specifications, so the production of your mattress will start as soon as you’ve made your purchase. After the mattress is constructed, inspected and is ready to ship and delivery, Saatva’s White Glove delivery team will notify you of an appointment for delivery. A day before the delivery date, you’ll get another email to confirm that the delivery will take place within a four-hour timeframe.

An adult aged 18 years or more must be at the address during delivery. If you’re running late and the couriers arrive at the same time, they’ll stay for 20 minutes before leaving. You can reschedule delivery at no extra charge. If you find that the White Glove couriers are late to arrive on the date of delivery, a team member will call you to inform to you about the delays and then reschedule when needed.

Saatva’s complimentary White Glove delivery extends to the brand’s other mattress models, bed frames, and adjustable bed bases.

Do you need a box spring with Saatva Classic mattress?

There is no need for an box spring for your Saatva Classic, but this could make the best alternative. Box springs are rectangular base with internal coils and a fabric-upholstered exterior. Box springs were created with innersprings similar to Saatva Classic in mind, but they may not provide enough support for larger all-foam or all-latex models.

Alternatively, you can use a foundation with the Saatva Classic. Foundations don’t feature coils like box springs but they still provide lots of support. They also tend to be more sturdy than box springs. However, one downside to the foundation is they do not have the cushioning provided by box springs and could make your mattress appear more firm than preferred.

If you own an box spring, and you decide you’d like to include the foundation of your Saatva Classic be aware Saatva’s White Glove couriers will remove your old box spring at absolutely no cost.

Is Saatva Classic a good mattress for side sleepers? Saatva Classic a good mattress for those who sleep on their sides?

The Saatva Classic’s multiple design options means the mattress can accommodate sleepers across different position groups. That said, some degrees of firmness will feel more comfortable for specific sleep positions than others.

Saatva Classic ratings from side sleepers in our testing crew varied by weight category. Sleepers with a weight of less than 130lbs received the highest scores to Saatva Classic models with luxury plush (3) degrees of firmness. The 130- to 230 pounds awarded the highest scores to models that have the luxurious soft (6) feel. Lastly, side sleepers weighing over 230 pounds gave the highest ratings to models with the firm (7) feel.

Based on our tests of the Saatva Classic’s design, it appears that the profile did not play a huge impact on the user’s experience. Our sleepers on the side were able to find the 11.5-inch and 14.5-inch models equally comfortable and supportive. Saatva Waterproof Mattress Protector.
